Pozycja Managing innovations(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2008) Pomykalski, Andrzej; Scientific Editor of the Division : Lewandowski, Jerzy; Penc, Józef; Kaczmarek, BogusławIn the modem world, a society based on knowledge and information, aimed at innovations is being created. An organization wanting to develop should show a proinnovative character, i.e. the ability to undertake and implement innovative activities. This book is an analysis of the discipline of innovation from different perspectives. Each of the chapters is connected with theory and methodology of innovativeness and its application. The author analyses innovativeness from different angles which makes the whole work interesting. The work is essential for the development of management due to a multiplanar analysis. It encompasses the following topics: - Managing for innovations; - The environment of organizations; - Managing the innovation process; - Globalization of technology; - Managing high-tech companies; - Clusters; - Integration processes in managing innovations. Competition, globalisation and the ability to invest m knowledge are processes which changed management systems in the modem economy, introducing elements of innovation into each company more than ever. One should state that innovation and innovativeness are the most important tasks facing companies, regions and states in the 21 s, century. The ability to create and implement innovations became an important challenge of managing organizations. The work is mainly intended for managers who wish to apply innovations in their organizations and may be useful for business students. For those reasons, the work analyses the mutual relationship between innovation and economic processes in macro (the whole economy) and micro (the company) scales and the conditions stimulating and influencing those processes. One may hope that this work will further supplement, to a certain level, theory in the discipline of innovation and management practice of present and future managers.
