Abstrakt
Diversity of product i on systems translates into a high level of complexity in
management because it concerns every organizational cell and all actions
conducted there.
Skillful management of production systems results in costs being reduced at
every stage of the making of a product with respect to all the processes involved
in it, from design, technical and organizational arrangement, appropriate
production process, to stockpiling, distribution and servicing.
Currently, with an increasing amount of data to be analyzed in all processes
in order to arrive at the right decision, computer-assisted tools are beginning to
play a significant role in the management of a company's systems. They are
highly developed software containing units to deal with a company's business
processes as well as original solutions often based on available Microsoft
spreadsheets. Using these kind of tools results in eliminating losses, and hence,
in the increased efficiency of the functioning of the system, and of the whole
company.
It is becoming vital to use a number of production systems management
concepts, supported by various methods, techniques and devices allowing to
increase the effectiveness of the processes and, by doing so, eliminating any
losses in companies.
The theme of the monograph includes research results in the four basie fields
dealing with production systems management. They are:
design of production systems
management of production processes
efficiency of production processes
computer assistance in production processes
We hope the knowledge included in the work turns out useful for theoreticians
as well as practitioners researching the effecti veness of management in modern
production systems.
