Pozycja O potrzebie etycznych podstaw dla edukacji globalnej(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2017) Ciążela, Helena; Bernat, PawełThe concept of global education is based on the recognition of the world as a network of interdependencies and on realizing the fact that the current direction of the development of civilization leads to environmental and humani-tarian disaster. On the other hand, there is a belief that there is still a chance to change this state of affairs by means of education. The purpose of education is recognized as not only a transfer of knowledge but also as a transfer of morals that is able to generate a shift in attitudes. In order to strengthen the impact of the global education project it is necessary to provide a coherent description and axiological analysis of the values behind it. In the paper, we argue that ethicists should work on building philosophical arguments for the development and implementation of global education programs. We argue further that such a philosophical framework should be based on the ideas of new humanism (proposed by Aurelio Peccei) and global responsibility (formulated by Hans Jonas).Pozycja A Review on Dynamic Conservation of Ancient Cities from the Perspective of Urban Morphology(Lodz University of Technology Press, 2023) Wei Hanyu; Wang GuoguangThe protection of ancient cities has changed from static security to dynamic protection, focusing on predicting the future based on the past and seeking a sustainable development path. Practice needs innovative guiding principles, tools and methods. The study reviewed 57 papers on the dynamic conservation of ancient cities from 2012 to 2022. This paper expounds on understanding the dynamic conservation of ancient cities through the innovation lens of urban morphology, focusing on the analysis of dynamic concepts, innovative ideas, tools, methods and specific strategies, as well as the logical relationships hidden behind the dynamics. It is worth noting that the block scale can help to establish a more evident morphological classification index, which is helpful to put forward targeted dynamic conservation guidance and suggestions. The research results will help improve the cognition of dynamic conservation of heritage, laying the foundation for establishing a systematic theoretical system of dynamic conservation of heritage. It can also provide a basis for exploring strategies to balance heritage conservation and development and offer a new perspective for the future development of urban morphology.Pozycja Sustainable design and process in textiles for higher education(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2023) Malinowska-Olszowy, Monika (Red.); Laska-Leśniewicz, Anna (Red.); Glogar, Martinia, Ira (Rec.)"The E-Book on Sustainable Design and Process in Textiles is one of the several types of educational activities undertaken in the GreenTEX project. To the best authors‘ knowledge, it is necessary to change the awareness and approach to sustainability in the broad textile industry (and related ones). Future textile designers who in the future will create new products and solutions not only for the textile and clothing industry but also for others that use textile products (such as medicine, transport, hygiene industry and protective equipment) must have full knowledge and awareness of how to create new solutions in line with the goals of sustainable development. [...]"Pozycja Wyzwania zrównoważonego rozwoju dla zarządzania branżą spożywczą(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2022) Majtczak, MagdalenaRecently, the topic of sustainable development has been gaining popularity. The desire to improve the quality of the environment is becoming extremely important. Moreover, many noticeable changes have taken place in the food industry. From a national perspective, the choice is mainly for products from family-owned, traditional companies, marked on the label with the description bio, organic or eco. From the European perspective, the focus is on biodegradable packaging, technological innovation and adequate supply. The pandemic and increased customer awareness have also influenced the important requirements of sustainability. Many companies on the market support other companies in achieving a sustainable level, for example, by decarbonizing and reducing their carbon footprint. These changes are affecting our world; therefore, today’s society and economists are turning to other models and strategies for doing business.Pozycja Comparison of composites containing technical embroidery and woven fabric as reinforcement(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2022) Poniecka, Agata; Barburski, Marcin; Angulo, David Ranz; Cuartero, JesusThe following research present a comparison of the strength values of composites containing two types of reinforcements: technical embroidery and woven fabric. Both types of reinforcements were made of flax roving with a linear mass of 400 tex. The technical embroidery was made on a computerized embroidery machine ZSK, type JCZA 0109-550. The use of technical embroidery technology is in line with the idea of sustainable development by minimizing waste generated in the production of composite reinforcements. Tensile strength and tensile elongation tests were carried out. As a result of the conducted research, it was proved that the composite containing the technical embroidery as the reinforcement showed higher tensile strength in the longitudinal direction, compared to the composite containing the fabric as the reinforcement. On the other hand, the composite containing fabric as a reinforcement showed a greater elongation.Pozycja Sustainable development in electromobility(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2019) Kowalski, Daniel Jan; Depta, AdamThe article presents the importance of compliance with the principles of sustainable development in the automotive industry. Explains the term electromobility, electromobility development plan and the origin, meaning and principles of the concept of "sustainable development" with an visualisation of its validity on examples. The concept of sustainable mobility is discussed on the example of the BMW Group. The paper also presents the speed of development of the electric car industry in the world since 2011, along with their forecasts for the future.
