Pozycja Product and packaging : tendencies for development in logistics(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2012) Lewandowski, Jerzy; Sekieta, Marek; Walaszczyk, Anna; Bendkowski, Józef; Budzik, Ryszard; Lisińska-Kuśnierz, Małgorzata; Pomykalski, Andrzej; Santarek, Krzysztof; Urbaniak, MaciejThe development of products and packaging in terms of logistics is multidirectional. Packaging is increasingly becoming associatcd with the product. Oftentimes, apart from the protective function, it becomcs a factor that determines the positioning of the product on the market. lt may happen that the valuc of packaging exceeds the value of the product itself, therefore the logistics aspccts, relatcd to the performance of securing, storage and transportation of the goods in thcir packaging, take on special significance. Individual and collective packaging, optimally selected, facilitate the flow of goods on all distribution lcvcls, thus allowing for distribution-related cost reduction. In the context of proper care for logistics operations related to products and their packaging, or with packaging only, it is worth paying attention to the demands of management standards in this field, regulated on the global lcvel, as wcll as risk management, along with tools, existing to support the implementation of logistics processes. The issues presented in the monograph, from the pcrspective of performed analyses, rcsearch results and case studies, prove the importance of the logistical aspccts of the product and its packaging. The subsequent chaptcrs present the role of packaging in logistics, and logistics systems (including transport). Also, global standards have been discussed, related to supply chain management, that include the very important aspect of risk management. The hereby presented monograph provides a cross-sectional presentation of logistics in its broadest meaning, in the area of product and packaging, at the same time outlining the tendencies for development in the issues in question. We sincerely hope that cvery theorist and practitioner of management finds here somc issues of their interest.Pozycja Product and packaging : tendencies for development in manufacturing(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2012) Lewandowski, Jerzy; Walaszczyk, Anna; Jałmużna, Irena Barbara; Bendkowski, Józef; Górska, Ewa; Lisińska-Kuśnierz, Małgorzata; Santarek, Krzysztof; Urbaniak, MaciejThe development of product and packaging in their manufacturing aspect is associated with the processes of design, planning and production as well as safety management, environment, documentation and quality in its broad meaning. Unquestionably, one of the main directions in the development of products and packaging is the need to meet the growing customer demands. Increasing customer requirements necessitate continuous improvement through, inter alia, the introduction of innovative solutions for product design and packaging, planning the production processes just in ti1ne and place, and acting in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Maintaining the appropriate balance between the economic aspects of business and the environment and society, has become the direction which the product and packaging manufacturers are supposed to follow now and in the nearest future, in order to fully be able to meet the demands set before them by the customer. The processes of design and production planning should be customer-oriented and their continuous monitoring should move towards eliminating or minimizing any discrepancies that may occur. The issues presented in the monograph, from the perspective of performed analyses, research results and case studies, prove the importance of the manufacturing aspect, as regards the area of the product and its packaging. We hereby present a monograph, in which the authors provide a crosssectional presentation of broadly understood production issue in the area of product and packaging, simultaneously outlining the tendencies for development in the proble1ns· in question. We sincerely hope that the presented study results will prove useful to all theorists and practitioners of management, for their functional use, that would improve the already operating processes.Pozycja Supply chain entities' awareness of correct food labeling as an element contributing to the safety of the packaged product(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2017) Kabaja, Bartłomiej; Lisińska-Kuśnierz, MałgorzataThe vast majority of foods offered to consumers is marketed in packaged form. The development of food production technology as well as retail sales demands drive continuous improvement in packaging. The main areas of improvement are: ensuring product safety, providing relevant information, streamlining the distribution process and facilitating end-use. The obligation to meet consumer requirements and expectations in those areas falls on food producers; however, all other entities forming the food supply chain should take part, and some responsibility, in the process of adapting the packaging to consumer needs. In view of numerous irregularities regarding a low level of consumer satisfaction with food product packaging presented in literature, the aim of the study was to assess the awareness of supply chain entities in terms of validity of correct food labeling on a selected group of foodstuffs.[...]
