Abstrakt
This paper describes studies completed under the research project “Polyurea coatings
as a possible reinforcement system”. It primarily aims at assessing the usability of polyurea coatings for
improving the performance of components of building structures. Basic studies on polyurea, simple physical
tests and full-scale experiments were carried out for drawing up this paper. Their outcomes were analyzed,
and the performance of the coating and its effect on building components was evaluated. The results of the
analysis show that applying the polyurea coating makes it possible for structural elements to maintain integrity
after their load-carrying capacities were exceeded, and helps improve other functional properties of a structure.
