Some remarks on dynamic results for averaged and exact models of thin periodic plates.
(Polskie Towarzystwo Mechaniki Teoretycznej i Stosowanej, 2005) Jędrysiak, Jarosław; Michalak, Bohdan
The aim of the paper is to show certain justification of the new non-asymptotic model of thin periodic plates, derived using the tolerance averaging (Wo?niak and Wierzbicki, 2000). The model describes the effect of periodicity cell size on overall plate behaviour, on the contrary to known homogenised models. Results obtained from those models will be compared to solution to and from the "exact" discrete model. It is shown that for long-wave propagation problems, results obtained for a special case of a periodic plate strip (weightless but covered by a periodically distributed system of two concentrated masses) within the non-asymptotic model are close results calculated from the known "exact" solutions based on the method used to analyse longitudinal vibrations of one-dimensional diatomic lattice (Brillouin, 1953). Similar conformity, taking place in special cases of short waves, is also presented.

Application of the tolerance averaging method to analysis of dynamical stability of thin periodic plates.
(Polskie Towarzystwo Mechaniki Teoretycznej i Stosowanej, 2004) Jędrysiak, Jarosław
Some problems of a dynamical stability of thin periodic plates are considered. As a tool to derive the governing equations of an averaged non-asymptotic plate model the tolerance averaging is applied, proposed for periodic composites and structures by Woźniak and Wierzbicki (2000). This method applied to the known Kirchoff-type plate equation leads to averaged models taking into account the effect of the period lengths on the overall plate behaviour (Jędrysiak, 2001). Here, a non-asymptotic model describing the problems of a dynamical stability of periodic plates is formulated. Moreover, it is shown that the effect of the period lengths plays a crucial role in some special cases of dynamical stability of such plates, i.e. for higher oscillation frequencies of compressive forces in the plate midplane.

On the modelling of heat conduction in a non-periodically laminated layer.
(Polskie Towarzystwo Mechaniki Teoretycznej i Stosowanej, 2007) Jędrysiak, Jarosław; Radzikowska, Alina
Heat conduction in a thick layer made of non-periodically distributed micro-laminas of two rigid conductors is considered. Macroscopic properties of the layer are continuously graded across its thickness (FGL layer). The aim of the paper is to propose an averaged model of nonstationary heat conduction in the thick layer with functionally graded macroscopic properties. Model equations are derived in the framework of the modified tolerance averaging technique, cf.Woźniak and Wierzbicki (2000). Moreover, the model is applied to show the microstructural effect on heat conduction in the FGL layer.
