PREFACE (by Piotr Napieralski)

The monograph TEWI 2021 is a direct response to the demand of the industry, which looks for research projects partners. On the one hand, the material submitted for this monograph will give opportunity for the academic community to present their competencies in the thematic areas of research they conduct. On the other hand, the industry will stimulate the research development of academic staff by outlining current and future areas in the field of modern technologies. The aim of this monograph is to popularize research areas in:

technology (information technologies),
education (new methods and IT solutions implemented in education),
knowledge (practical applications of physics and mathematics in technical sciences),
innovation (transfer of new ideas between science and business).

This publication is expected to become a forum for sharing ideas, thoughts, and good practices between industry and universities. Our goal is to familiarize the readers with crucial aspects related to technology, education, knowledge, and innovation. The authors of each chapter represent the scientific community and the solutions they present are related to their research and teaching activities. The attention is paid to the didactic activity, as it is of utmost importance for the industry environment and educating future employees who are expected to demonstrate a broad knowledge of new technologies. Modern teaching methods such as "Case Study" or "Problem Based Learning", which has been very popular recently, allow to transfer knowledge to students in an active way.

We expect this book will be of interest for researchers, academic staff and industry representatives in information technology and education. The editors would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the authors, chapter reviewers and other people who contributed to preparing this book for their effort and help.
