New strategies targeting the unfolded protein response (PERK signaling) for cancer treatment
    (Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łodzkiej, 2018) Pytel, D.; Szulc, Z. M.; Mucha, B.; Majsterek, I.; Diehl, J. A.
"Cancer cells exhibit increased metabolism and proliferation rates. The UPR (Unfolded Protein Response) has garnered attention as a signaling network utilized by cancer cells that contributes to a number of oncogenic processes. The UPR activates three signal transducers (ATF6, IRE1 and PERK); of these the kinase PERK can both potentiate cell survival during moderate stress and provide a mechanism for recovery if cells do not commit to an apoptotic fate. Thus, dissection of the molecular mechanisms whereby PERK signaling influences."

Selective thermal ablation of cancer cells by ferromagnetic containers
    (Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łodzkiej, 2018-11-23) Kołaciński, Z.; Raniszewski, G.; Szymański, Ł.; Pietrzak, Ł.; Wiak, S.; Frączyk, J.; Majsterek, I.; Przybyłowska-Sygut, K.; Mościcki, A.; Kamiński, Z.
"The limited effectiveness of conventional cancer treatment therapies and its detrimental effects on the body of the patient have proved that we need to look for new, better, methods of curing those fatal diseases. There is an indisputable need for introducing a localized treatment that would be harmful only to malignant cells, leaving the healthy ones unscathed. The paper shows one of the ways how to do it."
