Churches have been a refl ection of the values of a given society for centuries. But now they are witnesses of the history of Europe's desacralisation. Reuse of religious buildings is often a necessity. One should mention that former places of worship cannot be treated only in economic and functional terms, without looking at the identity of the place and its former function.

    Doświadczenie sacrum w architekturze
(Lodz University of Technology. Press, 2020) Kurek, Jan; Klima, Ewa
The article presents the author’s reflections on the canvas of his study trips around Europe. The considerations here focus mainly on understanding and feeling the concept of the sacred in architecture. Understood as a sphere of holiness, the sacred gradually changes its connotations – i.e. the meaning of the name. The link between the past and the present is internal emotion, felt individually or collectively in experiencing architecture – not just sacred.
