It is against this background that the author will try to answer questions arising: what affects knowledge management in niche fields and what does efficiency in spread of innovation depend on? Arriving at answers will be based on a cognitive approach that will help to understand factors of this complex process better and on an application approach that will use certain tools enabling to steer the process. The analyses presented in the study refer to definitions of niche fields and specific phenomena that lead to relevant information necessary to steer this process. It is already evident because the end of one process is usually the beginning of a new theory providing new value.
