System ten ma udostępniać zestaw narzędzi powalających na budowanie aplikacji biznesowych w postaci aplikacji rozproszonych, webowych, systemów usług biznesowych, wirtualnych repozytoriów, sieci P2P i wiele innych. Artykuł przedstawia podstawowe założenia oraz dotychczasowe rezultaty projektu ODRA przedstawiając podstawę teoretyczną w postaci podejścia stosowego, obecną architekturę platformy oraz zestaw najważniejszych opracowywanych mechanizmów i własności systemu.The aim of the Project ODRA (Object Database for Rapid Application development) is to develop an object oriented database management system. The system should include a set of tools simplifying the development process of various types of business applications. The types include distributed application, web applications, business services platforms, virtual repositories, P2P based applications and many others. The paper describes the project theoretical background and main assumptions of the research. Finally the results so far of the project - the prototype system ODRA - are presented.
