Pozycja Growth velocities and sectorial and zonal distributions of impurities in crystals(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2010) Szurgot, MarianFormulae for relative impurity content in various parts of a crystal have been derived and analysis of sectorial and zonal distributions of impurities conducted. Contribution of volume diffusion controlled crystal growth for sectorial and tonal distributions of impurities in lopezite crystals has been evaluated as small in comparison with surface diffusion.Pozycja Kryształy w meteorytach(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 2005) Szurgot, MarianCrystals forming various types of meteorites have been presented. Meteorites from Polish collections, and meteorites from falls and finds in Poland have been used as examples of extraterrestrial materials.Pozycja Kryształy w technice(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 2005) Szurgot, MarianApplications of crystals in modern technology and everyday life have been presented. Synthetic crystals grown in Polish laboratories and exhibited at the Geological Museum of the University of Lódź have been used as examples of present day important materials.Pozycja Microscopic investigations of Gold Basin and El Hammani chondrites(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2007) Szurgot, Marian; Polański, KrzysztofElemental and mineral composition of Gold Basin and El Hammami meteorites discovered in 1995 and 1997 have been studied by analytical electron microscopy and optical microscopy. It was established that the main meteorite minerals: olivines, pyroxenes, kamacite and taenite as well as troilite identified in the samples represent extraterrestrial minerals typical of the ordinary chondrites. Feldspars represented by plagioclase, orthoclase, magnetite, calcite, chromite and silica have been also present in the studied samples. Chemical and mineral composition, iron content, petrologic types of chondrules, their abundance and sizes, the presence of troilite veins and abundance of nonoxidised iron phases confirm H class of El Hammami chondrite, i.e.. olvine-bronzite class, and L class of Gold Basin, i.e. olivine-hyperstene class.Pozycja Microscopic investigations of Shisr 007 meteorite(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2009) Szurgot, Marian; Polański, Krzysztof; Burski, MaciejElemental composition, mineral composition and microstructure of Shisr 007 meteorite found in 2001 have been studied by analytical electron microscopy. It was established that the main meteorite minerals: olivines, pyroxenes, troilite, and graphite identified in the sample represent extraterrestrial minerals typical of olivine-pyroxene achondrites. Chemical and mineral composition, and texture confirm previous classification of this achondrite as ureilite.Pozycja Microscopic studies of Al Haggounia 001 meteorite(Wydawnictwo Politechniki Łódzkiej, 2011) Szurgot, Marian; Polański, Krzysztof; Kosiński, JanuszElemental composition, mineral composition and microstructure of Al Haggounia 001 meteorite found in 2006 were studied by analytical electron microscopy. It was established that orthopyroxene dominated by enstatite (En89-S2Fs16-10Wo1-2), sodic plagioclase (Ab81-84An10-12Or4-5), graphite, and oxidized kamacite identified in the sample represent extraterrestrial minerals typical of enstatite meteorites. Chemical and mineral composition, and texture confirm that Al Haggounia is EL chondrite rather than aubrite, and terrestrial weathering significantly changed primary meteorite minerals.ePozycja Microstructure of NWA 4435 meteorite(Politechnika Łódzka, 2008) Szurgot, Marian; Polański, KrzysztofElemental composition, mineral composition and microstructure of NWA 4435 meteorite found in 2006 has been studied by analytical electron microscopy and optical microscopy. It was established that the main meteorite minerals: olivines, pyroxenes, troilite, and graphite identified in the sample represent extraterrestrial minerals typical of carbonaceous chondrites. Chemical and mineral composition, petrologic type of chondrules, their abundance and sizes, the presence of troilite, and abundance of oxidized iron phases confirm CV3 class of this chondrite.Pozycja Morfologia kryształów(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, 2005) Szurgot, MarianMacromorphology of minerals and synthetic crystals exhibited at the Geological Museum of the University of Łódź has been described. Effects of internal structure and environmental factors such as growth temperature, supersaturation, impurities and gravitational field have been illustrated and explained.
